YA fans will be all too familiar with the TikTok sensation Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V. E. Schwab, which took the internet by storm. A Sunday Times bestselling, award-nominated and genre-defying book that is perfect for fans of The Folk of the Air by Holly Black and The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater. When Addie La Rue makes a pact with the devil after refusing to live the monotonous life her family wants her to live, she trades her soul for immortality, for wanting freedom. But there’s always a price- the devil takes her place in the world and makes her cursed to be immediately forgotten by everyone she meets and unable to make her mark on the world. Her only companion in this world is the dark devil with hypnotic green eyes, who visits her each year on the anniversary of their deal. One day, Addie meets someone who remembers her, and she realises she cannot escape her fate forever.

If it’s fairytales with a twist you’re after, then look no further than the Chronicles of Alice by Christina Henry. This three-paperback collection includes Alice, Red Queen, and Looking Glass. In this mind-bending new novel inspired by the wondrous works of Lewis Carroll, the first book in the series follows Alice, but not as you know her. She is a patient in a sinister asylum with cinderblock walls in a place known as the Old City. Her only friend is an axe murderer called Hatcher, to whom she whispers through a mousehole dividing their cells. But when the hospital burns down, both Alice and Hatcher have a chance to escape, where they must each confront their individual histories and the terrifying Jabberwocky.
