Winnie and Wilbur Books

Winnie and Wilbur, is a series of nineteen children’s picture books, written by Valerie Thomas and illustrated by Korky Paul. Since its inception in 1987, the series has sold more than seven million books, is hugely popular and has been translated into more than 10 languages. Following the success of the picture books, a series of 'young fiction' Winnie the Witch book sets were written by Laura Owen, also illustrated by Korky Paul. Also, an animated series based on the books was produced for Milkshake network.

The Winnie and Wilbur books revolve around Winnie (the witch), Wilbur (her cat) and each book covers their adventures. Winnie loves her cat. She also loves her orange and yellow stripy tights, pumpkin soup, and waving her magic wand. Winnie, however, can't find her beloved cat Wilbur in her house, because both her house and Wilbur are black. Everything in Winnie's house is black—the carpet, the chairs, the bed and the sheets, the pictures on the walls, and even the bathtub!
