Description:

The Iliad
The Iliad by Homer, dating from the 9th century B.C.E., is an epic poem which describes the dominant events of the final year of the Trojan war; the machinations of the gods, and the efforts of men.

At the centre of this saga is Achilles, the greatest warrior of the Greeks, and his opponent, the mighty Hector of Troy.

Homer builds a narrative bubbling with heroism, death, love, loyalty, compassion, and cruelty - an emotional struggle set against the schemes of vacillating gods.

The Odyssey
Widely known as one of the great epics of all time that has influences on European renaissance literature, The Odyssey is a poem said to have been composed around the 8th Century BC in Greece. It is also considered a sequel to another Great epic,
Iliad. The story of this epic revolves around the Greek hero, Odysseus and his return to his kingdom, Ithaca.

Troy has fallen after a ten year war and its victorious hero, Odysseus wants to return to Ithaca. However, he has not been able to reach Ithaca for another ten years, since he has to face many struggles with his antagonists on his way back, such as the God, Poscidon, and many other mythical creatures and also his greedy and lazy crew.

This epic by Greek poet, Homer, narrates the long ordeal of Odysseus and will certainly enthral the reader.
