Titles In The Set:

  1. The Colour Monster
  2. A Colour Activity Book
  3. The Colour Monster Goes to School
  4. The Colour Monster Pop-Up(Hardback)

The Colour Monster serves as the foundation of the series, introducing children to a lovable monster who is confused and overwhelmed by a jumble of mixed emotions. Through vivid illustrations and a simple, relatable storyline, author Anna Llenas skillfully demonstrates that each emotion has a specific colour. By personifying these emotions and assigning them colours, children can easily grasp the concept and develop emotional literacy. The book not only helps children identify and name their feelings but also reassures them that it's normal to experience a range of emotions. The Colour Monster offers a safe space for children to explore their emotions and begin their journey towards emotional self-awareness.

Building upon the foundation laid by the first book, A Colour Activity Book takes children on a hands-on journey of self-discovery. Filled with engaging activities, including colouring, drawing, and matching exercises, this interactive book allows children to explore their emotions further. By actively participating in the activities, children gain a deeper understanding of their own emotional landscape. The Colour Activity Book encourages self-reflection and fosters creativity, enabling children to express and process their feelings in a constructive manner. It also promotes mindfulness and self-care practices, instilling valuable emotional regulation skills that can benefit children throughout their lives.

The Colour Monster Goes to School tackles the important transition children face when starting school and navigating new social environments. This book helps children understand and manage their emotions in the context of their school experience. It addresses common concerns such as anxiety, friendship, and the fear of the unknown. By illustrating how the Colour Monster copes with these emotions, the book empowers children to recognise and deal with their own emotional challenges in a positive way. The Colour Monster Goes to School promotes empathy and understanding among peers, fostering a supportive and inclusive classroom environment. It equips children with the emotional intelligence necessary for healthy social interactions and lays the foundation for their overall well-being.

The final instalment in the series, The Colour Monster Pop-Up, brings the emotions to life in an interactive and visually stunning manner. With its pop-up elements and three-dimensional illustrations, this book provides a sensory experience that engages children's imagination and leaves a lasting impression. The interactive nature of the book not only captures children's attention but also reinforces their emotional learning. By witnessing the transformation of the Colour Monster's emotions in a tangible way, children develop a deeper connection with the material and are inspired to explore their own emotions further. The Colour Monster Pop-Up offers a memorable reading experience that can spark meaningful conversations about feelings and emotions between children and their caregivers.

The Colour Monster book series by Anna Llenas is a valuable resource for teaching children about emotions and fostering emotional intelligence. Through relatable characters, captivating illustrations, and interactive activities, these books empower children to understand, express, and manage their feelings.
