This Trials of Apollo collection is a four-book series written by acclaimed author Rick Riordan. The series takes place in the same universe as Riordan's other popular series, including Percy Jackson and the Olympians, The Heroes of Olympus, and Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard. The Trials of Apollo is a thrilling adventure series that is sure to captivate readers of all ages.

The series follows the story of Apollo, the god of the sun, music, and prophecy. After the events of the previous series, Apollo is punished by Zeus and transformed into a mortal teenager named Lester Papadopoulos. With no godly powers, Apollo must learn to survive in the mortal world and complete a series of dangerous trials to regain his godly status.

The first book in the series, The Hidden Oracle, introduces readers to Lester, who is now a sixteen-year-old boy living in New York City. He quickly learns that he is in grave danger from his immortal enemies, who are seeking revenge on him for his past actions. Lester is forced to seek refuge at Camp Half-Blood, a summer camp for demigods, where he meets familiar faces from the previous series.

The second book, The Dark Prophecy, takes Apollo and his companions on a dangerous quest to find the next Oracle of Delphi. Along the way, they must face deadly monsters, treacherous gods, and a powerful villain who is determined to destroy them.

In the third book, The Burning Maze, Apollo and his friends must enter the treacherous Labyrinth to save a friend and stop the evil emperor Nero from unleashing a devastating plague upon the world.

The fourth book, The Tyrant's Tomb, takes place in California, where Apollo and his companions must face off against the ruthless Roman emperors and protect a sacred tomb from being desecrated.

One of the strengths of The Trials of Apollo series is its well-drawn characters. Apollo is a flawed and complex protagonist, who must learn humility and compassion in order to regain his godly status. The supporting characters are equally well-drawn, with each one having their own unique personality and backstory. Fans of the previous series will be delighted to see familiar faces, as well as new characters that are just as engaging and memorable.

The series also explores a number of themes, including friendship, loyalty, and the importance of standing up for what is right. The characters face difficult moral dilemmas, and they must learn to work together and support each other in order to overcome their challenges.

Another strength of the series is its use of mythology. Riordan has a talent for weaving together ancient myths and modern-day storytelling, and The Trials of Apollo is no exception. The series is filled with references to Greek and Roman mythology, and it is sure to spark the imagination of young readers.

The books are also filled with action and adventure. Apollo and his friends must face a series of dangerous trials and battles, which are sure to keep readers on the edge of their seats. The books are fast-paced and engaging, with plenty of plot twists and surprises.

Overall, The Trials of Apollo is a thrilling and engaging series for readers of all ages. It combines mythology, adventure, and well-drawn characters, with themes that are relevant to modern-day readers. The series is sure to captivate fans of Riordan's previous works, as well as new readers who are looking for an exciting and engaging adventure series.

Description from the publisher:

The Hidden Oracle
He was once an immortal God. Now, he's a teenage boy called Lester. Apollo has angered his father, Zeus, for the last time. So, how do you punish an immortal? By making him human. Obviously. Cast down from Olympus, he's weak, disorientated and stuck in New York City as a teenage boy.

The Dark Prophecy
There's only one way he can earn back Zeus' favour, and that's to seek and restore the ancient oracles - but that's easier said than done. Apollo must head to the American Midwest where rumour has it, a haunted cave may hold answers. There are a few things standing in his way, though. The cave could kill him, or drive him insane. Oh, and a Roman Emperor whose love of bloodshed makes Nero look tame.

The Burning Maze
He was a God once. Until he was cast out by his father, Zeus. Now, he's an awkward teenager. Called Lester. The only way out is a series of scary and dangerous trials, of course. For his third trial, Apollo must journey through the Labyrinth to free an Oracle who only speaks in puzzles. Then, defeat the most vicious of three very vicious Roman Emperors. (All without the use of his godly powers.)

The Tyrant’s Tomb
Things are getting very bad, very fast, for Apollo . . .The former God Apollo is having a pretty rough time of it. Well, for one thing, he's been turned into a human and banished from Olympus. And he's called Lester. But being an awkward mortal teenager is the least of his worries right now. Though he and some of his friends have emerged from the Burning Maze, rescued the Oracle and lived to fight another day, they can't escape the tragedy that has befallen them or the terrible trials still to face.

About the Author:

Rick Riordan is an American author known for his young adult and children's fantasy books.
