My Neighbour Totoro The Novel Not only is this beloved Ghibli classic a popular anime film, but it is now also a childrenβs novel. In celebration of the 25th anniversary of this classic film, Hayao Miyazaki along with the veteran childrenβs author Tsugiko Kubo created the novel version of My Neighbour Totoro. The novel also features original illustrations by Miyazaki himself.
A delight for both existing fans and new readers; the novel, just like the film, also follows the story of the eleven-year-old Satsuki and her sassy little sister Mei. As the girls move to a new country home with their father; (to be closer to their ailing mother) they discover Totoro. Totoro is a magical forest spirit who takes the girls on several adventures whilst also teaching them a few life lessons along the way.
Whilst the novel is an exact adaptation of the film; it still makes great reading material for children. The illustrations, the children's protagonists, their adventures, and their fragile relationshipsβall make it a perfect reading experience for your kids. Also, the novel and the memorabilia about the film are a great way to introduce your kids to Studio Ghibli movies and the franchise at large.

Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind by Hayao Miyazaki is an epic fantasy tale written and illustrated by the legendary Studio Ghibli director Hayao Miyazaki. A modern masterpiece, this set is the story of Nausicaa, a princess of a small kingdom. Set far in the future, after an apocalyptic conflict has devastated much of the world's ecosystem, the few surviving humans live in scattered semi-hospitable environments within what has become a "toxic jungle." Young NausicaΓ€ lives in the arid Valley of the Wind and can communicate with the massive insects that populate the dangerous jungle. Under the guidance of the pensive veteran warrior, Lord Yupa, NausicaΓ€ works to bring peace back to the ravaged planet.
