Like most iconic success stories do, this one also had a humble beginning. Scholastic was founded in 1920 by M.R Robinson when he set up his first office in his mother’s sewing room and published a small four-page magazine that he distributed in 50 high schools. With time, more magazines followed, and by the 1940s, Scholastic book clubs were introduced in schools. Today, Scholastic is the world's largest publisher and distributor of children's books.
