Roger Hargreaves

Roger Hargreaves is an English author and illustrator which entertained young children and babies around the world. Hargreaves original aspiration was to become a cartoon artist; he wrote his first children’s book in 1971 called Mr. Tickle. Hargreaves work became an instant success once he was able to release his work with a publisher, in his 49 books included: “Mr. Sneeze, Mr. Happy, Mr. Nosey, Mr. Greedy”, in just 3 years these books sold more than 1 million filled with cute and fun vibrant colours and characters.

The books were also transformed into a cartoon series, animated show in 1975. His work is a timeless classic, and has continued to bring joy and laughter to children starting out their reading adventure, and today Hargreaves is still one of the bestselling authors. Hargreaves potato styled simple character designs were worked on and promoted in the early 1970s which eventually created more than 700 products from clothing, food boxes and many more merchandises. In 1976, Hargreaves was able to quit his day job to focus on his business and went on to release the books of Little Miss series in 1981 and was then transformed into a TV series too!
