Cassandra Clare Books

Cassandra Clare is an American author best known for her YA fiction. Her most successful series is The Mortal Instruments series, with other series splintering off from it, remaining in the same fictional universe. The Shadowhunters Chronicles currently encompasses six series of novels, three short-story collections, five graphic novels, one film, and a television series. 

The Shadowhunter Chronicles are perfect for fans of Harry Potter and Twilight. The series consists of hidden worlds, magic and teen drama, making it a firm favourite for YA readers. 

The Mortal Instruments

The Mortal Instruments is where the series all began. In 2007 Clare's first novel and the first book in the series, City of Bones, was published. The book starts as fifteen-year-old Clary witnesses a brutal crime in the middle of New York City. She soon discovers that the attackers are invisible to other humans, but she can see them. As she learns more and more about this group of tattooed teens, she discovers more about her past. The series has a total of six books, starting with City of Bones and followed by City of Ashes, City of Glass, City of Lost Souls, City of Fallen Angels and City of Heavenly Fire.

The Dark Artifices is the third set of books published by Cassandra Clare and is the sequel to The Mortal Instruments series. It takes place in 2012, five years after the events of that series's final book, City of Heavenly Fire. This is another trilogy containing the titles Lady Midnight, Lord of Shadows and Queen of Air and Darkness.
