Whether you are an adult or child, reading animal stories have some wonderful benefits you may not have known. Some marvellous advantages of reading animal stories is that it allows readers to learn more about other perspectives and learn how to experience things from different sides of the story. Although many stories are almost always fiction and made up, the grief, excitement, happiness and situations happening in these stories exist in real life. The stories have replaced humans with animals yet kids can truly learn about complex emotional feelings and circumstances which can prepare them as they grow up. Some animals could go through hardships being swept away by rivers and beaten around by harsh weather conditions or suffering to find a good spot to stand in the arctic, these could all teach kids about protecting our environment.

In animal stories, the animal kingdom replaces human society yet some of these animals portray actions and words which resembles closely to how people act. Whether it is kindness or selfish behaviours, many actions done can have a result or consequences; these can all teach kids to reflect on themselves. Animals in these stories are often found forming unexpected friendships even if their differences are huge, like lions, elephants, turtles, bears, pigs, zebras, dolphins and more, the animal kingdom showcasing differences will teach kids how to accept other people from different backgrounds with different beliefs. Animal stories allow kids to educate themselves without even realizing it, as oftentimes animal stories can keep children entertained. Kids can experience difficulty learning new words and may even find it scary to pick up a new book and to begin reading, but with a comfortable environment and a fun animal story, kids can learn effectively with fun and enjoyment. In this category, we have Oi Cat! , A Tale of Two Kitties , My Favourite Dinosaur and The Ugly Five Early Reader to name a few.
