How superheroes are made…

Marvel comics; originally known as Timely Comics, was founded in 1939 by Martin Goodman. In 1961, the Marvel era began with the release of The Fantastic Four, ushered in by Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko, and their contemporaries.

Since then, Marvel has grown dramatically with a massive international fandom and now the Marvel universe boasts a huge roster of Marvel superhero characters, such as Spider-Man, Iron Man, Captain America, Hawkeye, Daredevil, the Punisher, Iron Fist, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Black Panther, Ant-Man, the Hulk, the Inhumans, the X-Men (including Wolverine), Deadpool, and more.

Many of these fan-favourite characters have now become their own comic series with various crossovers. As the Marvel’ fan following grew, the Marvel universe graduated from being a comic book series to becoming an international Movie studio with a full-blown merchandise market and a successful franchise of its own.

Civil War by Mark Millar The Marvel universe is changing. When a battle between a group of Super Villains and a team of young heroes goes horribly wrong, resulting in a large number of civilian casualties, events are set in motion that will tear the Marvel Universe's SuperHero community apart. In the wake of a tragedy, Capitol Hill proposes the SuperHero Registration Act, requiring all costumed heroes to unmask themselves before the government. Divided, the nation's greatest champions must each decide how to react—A decision that will alter the course of their lives forever. It's time to choose and take a side. The group of superheroes who oppose the Act led by Captain America, find themselves in conflict with its supporters, led by Iron Man. Spider-Man is caught in the middle, while the X-Men take a neutral stance. The superheroes who support the law, including Mister Fantastic and Ms. Marvel, become increasingly authoritarian. This conflict has been brewing for more than a year, threatening to pit friend against friend, brother against brother...and all it will take is a single misstep to cost thousands their lives and ignite the fuse.
