Simply put, manga is Japanese comics—an umbrella term for a wide variety of comic books and graphic novels originally published in Japan. The distinct features that differentiate Japanese comic books from English are that manga is usually written and read right-to-left, and their original artwork is very unique in that they are very expressive and have exaggerated emotions. Manga in English therefore retains the original manga artwork, only translating the words.

In Japan, manga is typically released one chapter at a time, on a monthly or weekly basis through manga magazines that have been in circulation since 1968. For the popular series, however; the chapters are collected and published in the form of volumes called tankōbon volumes, which usually feature a few new chapters of the overall story.

Manga publishes these volumes approximately the size of a typical paperback novel. A single manga series may take several volumes to tell a complete story. Often, a long-running series will span multiple volumes published in Japan; before they are translated and made available for the rest of the world. This is something to keep in mind when starting a new Manga comic series; as it is imperative you read the volumes in the correct order.

For instance; the long-running Dragon Ball series by Akira Toriyama has 42 volumes. As ardent readers of the Dragon Ball series ourselves; we at Books2Door have curated a complete Box Set of all the volumes in one comprehensive set. Dragon Ball Complete Box Set : Vols. 1-16  by Akira Toriyama. As Goku and friends battle intergalactic evil in the greatest action-adventure-fantasy-comedy-fighting series ever; we wanted to make sure, your Dragon Ball fans have access to all the 16 volumes of the original manga series.

This Collection Set not only brings you all the volumes but also includes an exclusive double-sided poster and a collector’s booklet featuring fun Dragon Ball trivia and guides as well as an interview with its legendary creator of this global phenomenon. If your kid is a Dragon Ball fan, this is the one comprehensive set that your child will be proud to flaunt to their fellow Manga fans.

Demon Slayer Complete Box Set: Volumes 1 to 23 By Koyoharu Gotouge for readers aged 14+. This stunning collection features the complete manga box set of the popular Japanese comic series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. This incredible set not only includes volumes 1-23 but also features a premium Demon Slayer Corps: Special Report booklet by Koyoharu Gotouge and an exclusive double-sided poster. Perfect for fans of action and adventure, this series is suitable for teens and young adults aged 15+ due to its intense themes of heavy violence.

Set in Taisho-era Japan, where deadly demons lurk in the woods, Tanjiro Kamado is the sole human survivor of a brutal massacre. After returning from a hard day’s labour, forced to stop due to a heavy storm, he returns to find his entire family murdered in cold blood. Now, all he has left is his sister, transformed into the very monster that perished in their only family—a demon. Tanjiro strives to become a Hashira, more commonly referred to as the Demon Slayer Corps, to begin his perilous quest to avenge his family and help turn his sister back into a human again.

The best thing about manga is there is something for everyone to read. Whether you like high-school romantic comedies or high-fantasy epics, there is a manga for everyone. Manga is chiefly categorised by audience preference first and then its genres. Whilst there are several manga genres and subgenres; most manga is marketed based on their target audiences.

For the fans of cyberpunk and science fiction, Manga brings The Ghost in the Shell: Fully Compiled (Complete Hardcover Collection) by Shirow Masamune.
