Some of our favourite David Litchfield children’s books are part of this dedicated collection…

The Bear and the Piano by David Litchfield is the first book in the best-selling, award-winning 'Bear and the Piano' trilogy; the book has won several awards in the illustrated book category. The premise of the book being, a young bear who stumbles upon an instrument in the woods and teaches himself to play it. Eventually the beautiful music is heard by a father and son who are picnicking in the woods. The bear goes with them on an incredible journey to New York, where his piano playing makes him a huge star. He has fame, fortune and all the music in the world, but he misses the friends and family he has left behind. A moving tale of exploration and belonging from the best-selling and critically-acclaimed author David Litchfield; along with his breath-taking and stunning illustrations of the forest and the New York skyline—together make this book a rich experience for young readers (aged between 5-7).

Centred around Heather, a little girl who wants to go to Outer Space, where the stars sparkle with magic and wonder—Lights on Cotton Rock is an out-of-this-world picture book by David Litchfield. A magical, heartwarming story told through stunning illustrations with a powerful message; this is just the book you want to get your little one to enjoy and learn from. When a spaceship lands at Cotton Rock, it seems that all of Heather’s dreams have come true. But soon the alien has to leave. Will the spaceship ever come back? And if it does, is Heather ready to leave everything on Earth behind? This beautiful story (for children between the age of 4 to 7) about family and dreams, travels through space and time to show us that what we are looking for might be closer than we think.

Grandad's Secret Giant by David Litchfield is a funny, touching and visually stunning storybook that will teach your child valuable lessons whilst also making for a great storytime. "He has hands the size of tables," Grandad said, "legs as long as drainpipes and feet as big as rowing boats. Do you know who I mean?" "Yes," sighed Billy. "The Secret Giant. But he's not real!" Billy doesn't believe his Grandad when he tells him there's a giant living in his town, doing good deeds for everyone. He knows that a giant is too big to keep himself hidden. And why would he want to keep himself a secret? But as time goes on, Billy learns that some secrets are too BIG to stay secret for long... This delightful heartfelt story of belonging and friendship teaches the importance of tolerance and acceptance to young children (aged between 5 -7).
